Weekend Preview: 18-20 November

This weekend Eve Muirhead and her team of Anna Sloan, Vicki Adams, and Claire Hamilton, and Jackie Lockhart and her team of Karen Kennedy, Kay Adams and Sarah Macintyre, will be competing in the SunLife Classic in Calgary, where they will be joined by 30 other teams in a triple knockout competition.  Starting on Friday at 8.30am (3.30pm GMT), Eve and her team will take on Leslie Bishop of Sarnia, Ontario in their first game, while Jackie Lockhart and her team will take on Cathy Overton-Clapham of Manitoba, Winnipeg also at 8.30am.  Eight qualifiers will share the prize pot of $50,000 CDN.  To keep track of the event click here.

The second and final leg of the Royal Club’s Women’s Tour gets underway on Friday at 8pm at Curl Aberdeen this weekend.  Hannah Fleming’s team is currently in first position after winning the first event in Forfar.  This weekend’s event is in two sections of 6; a round-robin will be played with the top team from each section competing in the Final on Sunday afternoon.  To follow the results click here.

Elsewhere in the country…

30 teams representing provinces of national associations throughout the United Kingdom will be competing in the National Province Championships at Greenacres Curling Rink this weekend.  The competition starts on Friday at 10.30am.

The North Funspiel and West Funspiel U13 and U15 qualifiers take place this weekend.  Regional winners will compete in the National Funspiel U13 & U15 Final later on in the season.  The North qualifier takes place at Dewars Centre and starts at 9am, while the West qualifier takes place at Braehead and starts at 10am.
