U.S. Edge Ahead of Scotland as USWCA Tour Gets Underway

Posted on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 9:51am

Following their arrival in Scotland on Saturday 5th November, and a couple of days acclimatisation including a reunion with the 2011 US tourists, twenty women curlers from all over The United States of America began their tour on Sunday 6th with an opening banquet at the Glynhill Hotel, Renfrewshire.

Their quest to win the Marguerite Roberts Quaich began with a game at Braehead followed by a welcoming lunch hosted by the Braehead Ladies Branch. On to Greenacres (pictured) and they took to the ice again and an evening of warm hospitality. The U.S. women are edging ahead after two games, the current running score being 71 – 62. With many more games still to go, Scotland’s women look forward to narrowing the gap.
