Team Muirhead To Take Part in Players’ Championship

The Players’ Championship, Grand Slam of Curling takes place in Toronto, Canada from 7th to 12th April.

The Grand Slam of Curling is an annual series comprised of four curling tournaments, inviting the world’s best curlers to complete in Canada. To participate, invited men’s and women’s teams must qualify for the event and are awarded qualifying bonus points during each tournament. The Players’ Championship will feature 12 men’s and 12 women’s elite teams battling battling it out for the title.

Scotland’s Team Muirhead will be taking part in the competition. Also attending the the women’s event is current World Women’s Curling Champions Team Paetz of Switzerland, as well as World Women’s bronze medallists and European Curling Championships silver medallists Team Sidorova of Russia. Current European Curling Champions, Switzerland’s Team Feltscher will also be featuring, alongside fellow Swiss team Tirinzoni and Sweden’s Team Sigfridsson. There is also a strong Canadian presence including last year’s winners of the competition World Silver Medalists Team Jones and last year’s finalists Team Homan.

Round-robin play starts on Tuesday 7th April and continues until Friday 10th April with the Final scheduled for Sunday 12th April.

Team Muirhead will play their first game against Switzerland’s Team Paetz at 1:30pm (GMT) on Tuesday 7th April.
