16 teams competed in the SCT Goldline Forfar event over the weekend.

The 3 v 4 playoff was contested between Lee McCleary and Cameron Bryce’s teams. Lee McCleary’s side of Duncan McFadzean, Stuart Stark and Robin Brydone had a strong start and defended well thereafter to kill off the game with the final score being 6-2 in Team McCleary’s favour.

The final was contested between David Edwards and Hannah Fleming’s sides with local junior Adam Flint subbing for Billy Morton in Team Edwards rink.

The final was a very tight game and going into the final end, Team Edwards was one ahead with last stone advantage. Hannah’s team of Abigail Brown, Alice Spence and Lorna Vevers set up the end well but a double clear by John Penny almost sealed the win and the game was concluded at 4-3.

The win sees Team Edwards continue in their winning ways, having recently won the European Playdowns, they have now claimed both of the trophies of the SCT events so far this season.
