Scottish Senior Men’s Qualifying Results

Over the weekend the Scottish Senior Men’s Qualifying Playdowns took place at Forfar Indoor Sports and Greenacres Curling Rink.

At Forfar the holders Ken Horton failed to qualify.  The six qualifiers were Craig Hamilton, Billy Nairn, Gary MacFarlane, David Hardie, Greig Henderson, and Graeme Adam.

At Greenacres past World Champions Keith Prentice scraped through after a tie-break.  The other qualifiers were Gordon Crawford, Donnie Stark, Alastair McIntyre, Willie Jamieson, and Jim Hogg.

These teams will now compete in the Scottish Senior Finals, which will be played at Lanarkshire Ice Rink, February 9-12.  The winner of the Finals will go on to represent Scotland at the World Senior Curling Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark April 14-21.

Scottish Senior Men’s Qualifying Playdowns

The Scottish Senior Men’s Qualifying Playdowns gets underway today (6-8 January) at Forfar Indoor Sports and Greenacres Curling Rink.  Sixteen teams in 3 sections will compete at Forfar, while seventeen teams, again in three sections will battle it out at Greenacres.

The top two teams from each section will qualify for the Scottish Senior Finals, which will be played at Lanarkshire Ice Rink, February 8-12.  The winner of the Finals will go on to represent Scotland at the World Senior Curling Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark April 14-21.
