Andrew Robson (Lockerbie Young Curlers) and Fay Henderson (Dumfries Young Curlers) have been selected by the Matt Murdoch Curling Foundation (MMCF) to participate in the Trillium Curling Camp, Ontario, Canada from 6th – 11th August. The camp brings together around 100 aspiring young curlers from around the world, giving them a chance to share training techniques and develop their on-ice skills.

Matt Murdoch was President of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club from 2008 to 2009 and was hugely committed to the development of junior curling. The MMCF (set up in Matt’s memory) aims to annually fund two Scottish young curlers to experience overseas/Canadian training facilities and coaching at the Trillium Camp and this year has extended the opportunity for a coach to attend the camp, in partnership with The Royal Caledonian Curling Club.

Great Britain’s Olympic Bronze Medallist Claire Hamilton will accompany the two juniors to the Camp at which Claire will have the opportunity to shadow a Canadian coach for the week and develop her own coaching skills. Claire has joined the RCCC Academy coaching team for the forthcoming season and will be sharing her advice and support with junior curlers around the country.
