Scots Wheelchair Curlers Start Season In Denmark

Scotland’s wheelchair Performance Programme squad are set to get their season underway this weekend at the 9th Danish International Wheelchair Curling Cup 2015, in Taarnby, Denmark.
This is the first competition of the World Wheelchair Curling Tour which also includes events in Scotland, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany, Russia, USA and Canada.
The competition also marks the first of four tournaments which Scotland will be competing in in the lead up to their crucial qualifier for the World Wheelchair Curling Championship in Lohja, Finland in November. The other three events are the Lucerne Curling Cup, the Wetzikon Bonspiel and the Stirling Wheelchair Curling International which will all take place in October.
Scotland’s wheelchair curling squad in the competition will consist of John Doyle, Gregor Ewan, Debbie McKenna, Aileen Neilson and Hugh Nibloe.
In all 10 teams will be competing at the event which will feature the current World champions, Russia, as well teams from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Norway, Italy, Sweden and two teams from Denmark.
Games will begin at 19:00 (GMT) on Friday 11th September, with the Final scheduled for 12:00 (GMT) Sunday 13th September.
