Hello everyone, welcome to the Ladies President’s Blog and my first post as Ladies President for the 2012-2013 Season.

On Tuesday, 12th June we had our first Ladies Standing Committee meeting which was well attended.  I welcomed all our new and old reps, as well as Gail Munro our new Treasurer and Judith McFarlane (Development Manager – Members & Junior) from the Royal Club office.

It would appear that I have just survived and have dodged the bullets…only kidding, it all went well.

On Wednesday, 20th June I picked up lots of donations of home baking from the ladies of Murrayfield Centre, to take with me to the Highland Show.

On Thursday, 21st and Friday 22nd June I attended the Royal Highland Show where I was on duty at the Royal Club’s tent.  Also in attendance were Fiona (VP), Mary Anne (JVP), Isabel Gillespie (Stirling), Alan Durno (Vice President of the RCCC) and Royal Club staff.  We welcomed and provided shelter from the rain, refreshments of tea, coffee, and of course home baking, which other ladies from around the country added to over the course of the show.  I think we have all dried out by now!  My thanks to those who contributed home baking and who helped out on the stand.

On Wednesday, 27th June I attended my youngest daughters Speech Day at school.  She is my last one there and it feels quite strange and sad, but I am happy for her to join her sisters at University.  Another chapter closes and another one opens in the Bain household.

Finally, tomorrow (Saturday, 30th June) I have a big family wedding happening, my nephew and god son, Graeme Prentice, who some of you may know, is getting married to my neighbours daughter where all three of my Daughters are bridesmaids and its like a military operation, what with dress fittings, spray tans, make-up, hair and getting the marquee ready.  It has been a very busy but exciting time, here’s hoping the rain stays off.

That’s it for now, I will keep you informed.
