Ladies Branch President’s News Update

Events attended since the last post on Ladies’ Branch President’s News.
Thursday 17th July President David and I attended the annual curling camp at the Peak, Stirling.
Monday 11th August met with VP Marion over lunch to discuss updates to Ladies Branch Manual.
Monday 25th August attended Rules Meeting at Scottish Institute of Sport in Stirling.
Tuesday 2nd September LSC meeting at Ellersley Hotel in Edinburgh.
Monday 15th September met with sub committee, in Ellersley Hotel in Edinburgh, to select Outgoing Canadian Tour in November 2015.
Monday 22nd September I was back at Scottish Institute of Sport in Stirling for another Rules meeting.
Saturday 27th September was spent at Asham Under 17 slam in Lockerbie.
Monday 29th September, met with Anne Malcolm (2005 Tour Captain, Outgoing Canadian Tour) and executive committee of 2015 Outgoing Canadian Tour in Hamilton. All tourists have confirmed acceptance of place on Tour and first meeting held on Monday 10th November.
Saturday 4th October VP Marion attended Asham Under 17 slam at Kinross.
Monday 6th October Ladies Branch held a short meeting at Ellersley Hotel, we then all went to Murrayfield Ice Rink where we enjoyed lunch and a fun bonspiel.
Friday 10th to Sunday 12th October the Scottish Curling Senior Mixed Championship finals were held at Stranraer. It was great to be close to home for a change. Only 12 teams entered this year but it still was a fun weekend with some very good curling.
Friday 17th October was Day 2 of the European Playdowns in Perth. I enjoyed watching all the action in the afternoon session.
Tuesday 21st October I attended my first board meeting at the Scottish Institute of Sport in Stirling.
Saturday 8th November I replied to the toast to The Royal Caledonian Curling Club at a Curlers Court held in Ayr Ice Rink.
Tuesday 11th November was the joint meeting for Ladies Branch, the Area Standing Committee and the Board of The Royal Caledonian Curling Club, we met, had lunch and then played for the Priestfield Quaich which the men won by 31 shots to 24, the score was tied at 24 all after 7 ends but the ladies just ran out of steam.
This weekend I am off to Greenacres to watch the Asham Under 17 Slam and the next weekend I am at home in Stranraer for the Double Rink Championship.
Last weekend I helped my husband Alastair host the Canadian Rotarian Curlers, we had two very pleasant days with them. The Canadians were full of praise for the hospitality they have received all over Scotland, they have had great experiences on and off of the ice.
I managed a game of curling on Monday in a Province match, Rhins of Galloway against Carrick, we had a great fun game which ended in a peel, a very just result.
