Festive Curling in George Square

Posted on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 4:39pm

The Royal Club will once again be working with Glasgow Life to offer curling at George Square in Glasgow this Winter

Weather permitting, circles will be painted and sealed into the ice when the ice is initially being laid at the end of November. Hourly curling sessions led by Royal Club coaches will be held on the evening of 30th November as part of the St Andrew’s Day Celebrations; what better way to celebrate Scotland’s National Day than by curling outdoors in one of Scotland’s finest cities..

Curling will again feature in the Glasgow Hogmanay Celebrations with 45 minute coaching sessions being offered from 12pm – 10pm; sessions will be available to book soon via Glasgow Life’s website. Olympians Rhona Martin and Eve Muirhead will be featuring at the George Square rink with specific junior sessions at 2pm and 3pm being led by Eve Muirhead, and a session at 7pm being led by Rhona Martin, MBE.

More information on booking will be posted on the Royal Club website when available.
