Events Coming Up This Weekend – 12/10/17 – 15/10/17

World Mixed Championships, Champery, Switzerland 7th – 14th October

The World Mixed Championships, in Champery, Switzerland, reaches its climax this weekend; and at the time of writing Scotland are still in the competition. Our national team have currently qualified for the last 16 although it is not yet known who they’ll play. Last 16 and Quarter Final games are scheduled for Friday, with Semi Finals and medal games on Sunday.

Scottish Mixed Doubles Championships, Aberdeen 12 – 15th October

This is the second national championship of the season. The winners will go on to represent Scotland at the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships in Ostersund, Sweden, in April. Play starts this evening, and the RCCC provide medals to the winners.

Asham Under 17 Slam, Stevenson Trophy, Lockerbie 14th – 15th October

First of 5 slam events this season for boys and girls who are under 17. The events are at Lockerbie, Lanarkshire, Greenacres, Forfar and Perth. Overall winners secure spots at the WCF camp in Fussen, Germany.

Our inclusive, community festival of curling continues this weekend with events at Stranraer Ice Rink, Dumfries Ice Bowl, Borders Ice Rink, Ayr Ice Rink and Lockerbie Ice Rink. Last week’s events were extremely successful, with people of all ages eager to give the sport a go!
