Dundee Workshop Gives Practical Mixed Doubles Insight

Posted on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 3:59pm

It’s a busy week for Mixed Doubles with the RCCC’s first ever ‘Master Mixed Doubles’ workshop taking place at Dundee Ice Arena last night.

Current Scottish Champion Judith McCleary presented on the Mixed Doubles rules including ‘power play’ which has recently been introduced as one of the new rules. The eight teams in attendance then had the opportunity to get on the ice and try the format for themselves with support from David Jones and Judith.

MDWS 1If you missed this workshop but still want to learn more, the RCCC are running another ‘Master Mixed Doubles’ workshop in January – to find out more information, please visit our seminar page.

The Scottish Curling Mixed Doubles Championship is taking place this weekend (10th – 13th December) at Braehead. There are eight teams taking part, including previous champions Team Mouat and Team McCleary – spectating is free, so if you are interested in this format, then it’s the ideal time to see it in action.

If you are interested in playing Mixed Doubles, there are competitions starting to take place across the country; for details visit RCCC Competition Calendar.
