The last Asham U14 Slam event of the season will be hosted at Curl Aberdeen on Saturday 2nd March. Callum Kinnear, Gavin Hay, Ben Cormack & Mark Watt (Perth) were winners at the Asham U14 Slam events in Perth & Stranraer earlier this season. Whilst it is impossible for another team to catch them in the Slam, the boys will be looking to finish the season on a high with a third consecutive win.
Layla Al-Saffar’s girls team (Forfar), Lucy Fleming’s girls team (Hamilton) and Andrew Brown’s boys team also from Perth will provide the competition for Callum’s team in the round-robin stage.
In the other three sections teams representing Stirling, Waterfront (Greenock), Kinross, Moray, Borders, Hamilton, Murrayfield (Edinburgh), Aberdeen and Inverness will battle it out for places in the semi-finals.
23 teams in total have competed in the Asham U14 Slam events this season; great participation figures for a competition only in its second year and a great outlook for the future of Scottish curling.
