Curling This Weekend: From 7th November

The third Asham Under 21 Slam of the season, The Inverness Junior International takes place this weekend from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th November at Inverness Ice Centre.   The Asham Under 21 Slam comprises four events, points from each event will be totalled together to determine the overall male and female Slam winners, each being awarded £1000 prize money. Team Whyte and Team Brydone are currently in joint first position in the junior men’s competition after two events, while Team Murray currently lead in the junior women’s competition.

Team Edwards (4) (1024x556)The next stage in the Goldline Scottish Curling Tour continues with the Edinburgh International from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th November. Heading the Scottish contingent will be Team Brewster, after their recent success in the Curling Champions Tour and Team Edwards who has won two of the three SCT events so far this season. Other teams include Markku Uusipaavalniemi and his team, one of four Finnish teams competing and Team Šik from the Czech Republic.

—————————————————————————————————Team (1024x765)The White’s Drug Store Classic, a part of the World Curling Tour, takes place in Swan River, Manitoba, Canada from Friday 7th to Monday 10th November. Scotland’s Team Murdoch will be taking part in the competition which host 24 teams and be played in a triple knockout format. The competition is set to be a predominantly Canadian affair with only one other European team, Team Freiberger of Switzerland competing.

Team Muirhead Euro WebThe Colonial Square Ladies Classic, a World Curling Tour event,  will be played in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada from Friday 7th to Monday 10th November. Scotland will be represented in the competition by Team Muirhead. Also taking part in the competition are three teams from Switzerland (Jäggi, Tirinzoni, Paetz) and Swedish team Hasselborg. 31 teams will take part in the competition which will be played in a triple knockout format.
