Curling This Weekend: From 2nd October

The next installment of the Curling Champions Tour  continues with the Swiss Cup, Basel which will be held at Arlesheim, Switzerland from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th October. Some 32 teams from all over Europe will be taking part in the competition, which will be played in a triple knock-out format.
From Scotland Teams Brewster (Tom Brewster, Glen Muirhead, Hammy McMillan, Ross Paterson and Thomas Muirhead), Murdoch (Dave Murdoch, Scott Andrews, Greg Drummond, Michael Goodfellow) and Smith (Kyle Smith, Grant Hardie, Kyle Waddell, Duncan Menzies, Cammy Smith) will all be taking part in the competition.

Asham U21 WebThe second of the Asham Under 21 Slams take place this weekend at Kinross Curling from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th October. The Asham Under 21 Slam comprises four events, points from each event will be totaled together to determine the overall male and female Slam winners, each being awarded £1000 prize money. Current leaders, winners of the Asham Under 21 Slam at Greenacres from 12-14 September, Team Whyte (Ross Whyte, James Baird, Gavin Barr & Euan Kyle) and Team Murray (Katie Murray, Sophie Jackson, Hailey Duff & Ellie Fraser) will be hoping to continue their winning form at Kinross.

SCT-logoThe second of the Goldline Scottish Curling Tour continues with The Sulwath Open at Dumfries Ice Bowl from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th October. There will be 20  teams taking part in the competition which will be split into four groups. Amongst the teams competing are Performance Foundation teams Mouat and Jennifer Martin and Podium Potential team Fleming. Also appearing at the competition are a men’s and women’s team from China.
