London 2012 Ticketshare: extended til 23 Sept

Posted on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 12:47pm

The British Olympic Association (BOA) has teamed up with the National Governing Bodies of sport to offer young adults (18-26 years) the chance to attend an Olympic Games event for FREE! This is in conjunction with the London 2012 Ticketshare scheme, and for a lucky few their visit will be in the company of a British Olympian.

The number of tickets available to curling is limited and the tickets available will cover a range of the summer sports. Young people who are allocated tickets will be put into groups of 4,5 or 6 young adults.

You can read all about London 2012 Ticketshare at These free tickets are funded through a levy on London 2012 Prestige Ticketing hospitality packages, and the BOA is asking for OUR CLUBS’ help to ensure that tickets go to deserving young people involved in sport. The BOA aims to inspire young adults to pursue their sporting ambitions through the Ticketshare scheme.

What do clubs have to do?

Before Friday 23rd September club members must nominate people who they consider should get a ticket to attend a session at the Games. Nominations should take the following format: 100-150 words on how the individual (who is 18-26 years) already ‘live’ one or more of the Olympic Values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect. The nominations should be emailed to

The final decision on the successful nominees rests with British Curling. Please bear in mind that each winner will receive one ticket only and must use the ticket themselves (non-transferable).

The tickets are free and include transport within London zones. Other transport and accommodation costs must be paid for by the individual.
