Asham U17 Slam Winners in Fussen for WCF Junior Camp

For many years, The Royal Caledonian Curling Club (RCCC) has funded the winning Asham Under 17 Slam team to attend the World Curling Federation Junior Camp held annually in Fussen, Germany.

This fantastic prize provides a great incentive to teams competing in the Slam and this year’s Asham Under 17 Slam winners; Callum Kinnear, Ryan McCormack, Duncan McFadzean and Matthew McKenzie were delighted to get the opportunity to represent RCCC at the camp.

RCCC Coaching & Workforce Manager Giles Lomax (pictured left) accompanied the team and worked with the Gold Group at the camp, led by Canadian instructor and WCF Development Officer, Scott Arnold.

With a total of 120 juniors and 20 instructors and assistants from across the globe, the WCF camp offers a great opportunity for our juniors and staff to get an insight to techniques & drills being taught in other countries, to share ideas, and build new networks and friendships.

By all accounts, the WCF camp was a great success with all coming back enthused about the new season ahead.
