ERIC BROWN BONSPIEL

 

Ten teams from Nairn and Nairn Ladies Curling Clubs played Ten teams from as far afield as Loch Ard, Fochabers and Newtonmore in the Eric Brown Bonspiel at the Inverness Ice Centre on Saturday 29

After a few hard fought games in the morning, followed by a suitably sustaining lunch, winners played winners to determine the destination of the trophy.

The presentation was attended by Mrs Sheena Brown, and the trophy and prizes were presented by Dr Carole Brown.

The winners were a rink from Highland Curling Club (winners of the 'neeps' in 2008), represented by Janet Brodie, Ian Bremner, Mike McPherson and Jim Brown.  Runners-up were the Nairn rink of Harold Forrester, Gregor Munro, Eric Behrendt and Alex Scott.

Consolation prize winners were the Inverness rink of Ian Fraser, Alex Fraser, James Macrae and Brian Thomson; and this year's ‘Neaps’ were  Andy Wood’s rink from Inverness Hospitals.


The Club's thanks are due to Match Secretary Alex Scott, who masterminded the event, and to all Club members who supported the event.
