Competition Rules - Updated September 2007
Bonspiel
1 Each member club shall enter two or three rinks for the competition with the club being responsible for the ice fees of the rinks.
2 Each player participating in the Bonspiel shall be a member of the club they are representing
3 The draw for the competition will be advised by the Secretary, with each club playing against different Province clubs.
4 Each game will be played over eight ends or the bell which ever occurs first.
5 The Lady Baillie Shield to be awarded to the club with the highest aggregate ends up. i .e. Ends scored less ends lost, multiplied by two for the three team clubs and three for the two team clubs.
6 If a tie occurs on ends, the club with the highest aggregate shots up would win. i.e. shots scored less shots lost, multiplied by two for the three team clubs and three for the two team clubs.
7 Games can commence with three players (but not less) with a shot being awarded for each part five minute period up to a maximum of three shots and three ends for total non appearance. After half an hour the game would be declared null and void with the three shots and the three ends being awarded to the full team regardless of the game score at that time.
Nimmo Trophy
1 Each member club shall enter a team for the Province League, with each player participating being a member of the club they are representing and a current member of the RCCC.
2 Played throughout the season on a league basis with each club playing against each other club. Two points awarded for a win, one point for a draw. Ends scored, shots up and total shots scored shall count in the event of a tie after all the games are played.
3 Each game would be played over eight ends or the bell which ever occurs first.
4 The winner will represent the Province in the following seasons Province Championship.
5 Normal RCCC rules should apply to clubs with incomplete teams and late arrivals although the game should start. (Rule 5a).
6 If a team fails to appear two points, five ends and six shots will be awarded to their opponents.
7 Score cards properly completed and signed by the skips should be collected and forwarded to the Secretary.
8 All games should be played at the time /date issued by the Province Secretary with Rule 6 and the rink charges being the penalty for non appearance
Area 6 Bonspiel
1 The six clubs to represent the Province will be selected on a rota basis.
Area 6 Knock Out
The three clubs to represent the Province will be selected as the first three clubs in the previous years Province Bonspiel.
