Substitutes rules If you cannot play please arrange a substitute. Reserves listed above should be first choice; there after substitutes may be taken from members not listed above or from rinks already eliminated from the competition.
When a substitute is taken from a defeated rink, the substitute must have been drawn to play in a position no higher than that of the player to be substituted. A lead player, however, may be substituted by a player drawn to play lead or second. For example, if a third is unable to play they can by substituted by an alternative originally drawn to play at lead, second or third, but not a skip.
The player originally drawn to the rink is to return in subsequent rounds whenever possible.
In the event of a tie, in any round, the game shall first be decided on ends won and if the game is still tied a shot must be drawn by both skips. Normal sweeping rules shall apply except that the opposing team may not sweep a stone that has reach or crossed the far tee line.
Other Rules
Skips may, if desired alter the playing order of their rinks, but only before the commencement of the competition. There after the same starting order should be applied in subsequent rounds and where the substitute rules apply.
