Annual General Meetings 2008
The Annual General Meeting of Midlothian Province was held within the Edinburgh Curling Club, Murrayfield on Monday 31 March.
The subscription for 2008/09 remains at £19 per Club plus 50p per male member. The levy on male members continues to be used to meet the costs incurred by visitors on incoming official RCCC tours.
The Canadian men will be touring in Scotland in January 2009. Midlothian Province is very grateful for the generosity of Murrayfield Curling Limited in waiving ice charges for the matches between Area 5 and the South Tour.
Robert Stewart (Oxenfoord) was elected President, with Gordon Addison (Corstorphine) as Vice-President. Pat Edington (Boswall) was re-elected as Honorary Secretary and Treasurer.
The meeting approved clarifications of some of the competition rules.
In the Midlothian Bonspiel should there be a tie, the winning club shall be that club, of those involved in the tie, which has scored the highest average number of shots. Should this not give a clear winner, those still tied shall be declared joint winners.
The Colin Black Trophy is awarded to the team, outwith the club that has won the Bonspiel, that has won its game by the highest margin. Should there be a tie, the winner shall be that team that has scored the greatest number of shots in its game. Should there still be a tie, the winner shall be the team winning the greatest number of ends. Should this not give a clear winner, those still tied shall be declared joint winners.
As Gogar Park Curling Club is no longer an "ice rink club", participation in the GogarPark Open Super League or Mixed Super League will no longer render a curler ineligible to represent his/her cub in the King George IV Trophy.
