Neilston Curling Club  Competition Results.
 2009-2010 Season.

2009-2010 competition results will be posted on this page as soon as posible after competition result is confirmed.

Points Competition.
Six Neilston members took part in the 12th Provence points Competition at Greenacres on Sunday 28th Feb. 2010. A  Bridge of Weir  member won the competition with 48 Points.  Brian Heron with 43 points was second overall and the highest placed Neilston member and therefor winner of the Points Shield. Third place with 37 points was a tie between James Carswell and Sheila Smith.

Jack Barr Memorial Salver.
Neilston won two matches with the third mstch peeled. Combined scores at end of competition stand at  Neilston 30 Barrhead Fereneze 12.

Johnnies Pound Draw The Shot Competition.
Both Gordon McMurdo's shots were first and second shots, ending the long run of successes in this competition of Margaret Wood.

Broadlie Cup Pairs Competition
Team 2 Sheila Smith & Ewen Cameron and Team 8 Bill Ferrie & Margaret Wood won through to the final with Sheila & Ewen winning 10-4.

Rotating Skip Bonspiel.
The annual festive season fun bonspiel was played on 30th December. There were two teams contesting, Team  A1 Dorothy Gormlie, Sheila Smith, James H carswell and Robert Humphrey against Team A2, James R Carswell, Bill Ferrie and Colin Melrose.  Team A2 got away to a dream start being 12-1 up at the 5th end, Team A1 came back in the later ends with the score finishing 13 - 7 for Team A2.

Annual friendly Neilston v Auchinames.
Neilston Skipped by Tom Wood, with James H Carswell, Bill Ferrie and Gordon McMurdo  won the annual friendly against Auchinames on 17th December by 7 - 4.

Reid Rosebowl.
The Reid Rosebowl Bonspiel competition was played at Greenacres on Tuesday 27th. October. Andy Robinson's rink of Gordon McMurdo, James R Carswell and Malcolm Baker  cruised to a first match lead of 8 shots up against James Carswell's rink of Robert Humphrey,Gordon Melrose and Barbara Wilson who failed to win an end..
Rhona Robinson's rink of Bill Ferrie, Rosemary Griffiths and Colin Melrose also had a high score off 8 shots against 3 shots from Ewen Cameron's rink of Forbes Ferguson, John Bray and Margaret Semple.
In the second match Rhona's rink peeled with James Carswell's rink 3 shots each, while Andy's rink also peeled against Ewen's rink with 4 shots each, giving Andy's rink the winning margin gained in the first match of 8 shots up.

Leggat Cup.
The final matches in the Leggat Cup Autumn League were played on Wednesday 21st October, with Rink 1, Andy Robinson(Skip), Margaret Wood, Forbes Ferguson and Georgie Travers winning the league with an impressive 10 points from 5 matches. Click on this link to view Leggat cup League table

Opening Bonspiel.
After four ends, Forbes team of Gordon Melrose and Barbara Wilson were 2 shots up against Bill Ferrie's team of Brian Heron and Margaret Semple. While Robert's team of Colin Melrose and John Bray peeled with James Carswell.(Jun). team of Malcolm Baker and Gordon Melrose. James Carswell won a draw the shot against Robert to determine who would move, so Young James's team played Bill Ferries's team for the second four ends which ended in Peels. However Robert's team in the third end of the second four ends scored a six against Forbes with a single in the first and fourth ends against two shots gained by Forbes in the second end gave Robert's team a convincing win of plus six shots.

2008-2009 Season.


Cowdenhall Challenge Salver.
On Thursday 2nd April, Neilston played Uplawmoor in the Annual friendly for the Cowdenhall Challenge Salver.  After 4 ends Neilston were 2 shots down, but both rinks came through in the last ends to regain possession of the Salver after two years of defeat by winning 17-8.Well done
to the two Neilston Rinks.


Points Competition Shield.
The Neilston Annual Points Competition this year was combined with the Province Points competition which took place at Greenacres on Sunday 29th March. Neilston's Sheila Smith won the Province Competition therefore also wins the Neilston Points Competition Shield.

 


McLeod Cup.
Winners of the McLeod Cup this season were Rosemary Griffiths,Malcolm Baker and Dorothy Gormlie, over James Carswell, Colin Melrose and John Bray, both rinks ending the bonspiel with +5 shots with Rosemary's rink having won 5 ends against James's 4.


Jack Barr.
Annual friendly between Neilston CC and Barrhead Fereneze CC.  Neilston came out  winners again with a combined score of 35-6.                                         


Johnnies Pound.
Played after the final of the Pairs competition, Johnnies Pound was won by Margaret Wood for the third time.



Broadlie Cup.
Winners of Broadlie Cup pairs competition were James Carswell and Rhona Robinson


Que Sera Quaich.
Winners of this season rotating skip bonspiel were Malcolm Baker, Dorothy Gormlie, Barbara Wilson, and Adele McLaughlin.

Kirktonfield Knockout Competition.
The final of the Kirktonfield Cup was played on Friday 23rd Dec. between Rink1 Andy Robinson and Rink 3 Rosemary Griffiths. Winning Rink was Rink 1 Andy Robinson(Skip), Bill Ferrie, John Bray and Barbara Wilson by 8 shots to 5.


Auchenames Friendly.
The annual friendly against Auchenames was played on Friday 19th Dec.
Neilston Rink James Carswell, Bill Ferrie, Gordon McMurdo and Barbara Wilson played an excellent game winning 14-1.


Reid Rosebowl.
This bonspiel competition was played Tuesday 21st October. The winning Rink with 7 shots up was Rhona Robinson(Skip), Ewen Cameron, Gordon McMurdo and Robert Smith. 


 

Annual Friendly against Bridge of Weir CC.
Neilston Rink of Andy Robinson(Skip) Malcolm Baker, Colin Melrose and Forbes Ferguson won the annual friendly against Bridge of Weir CC by 7-6


Leggat Cup.
The final matches of the Leggat Cup were played on Monday 13th October. Winners of the cup are Rink 6 James Carswell(Skip) Rhona Robinson, Ewen Cameron and Gordon Melrose.

The Opening Bonspiel.
The 2008-09 Season Started off with a full turn out for the opening Bonspiel on Wednesday 10th Sept.
Winning Rink was Bill Ferrie(Skip), Malcolm Baker, Colin Melrose, and Gordon McMurdo.
