2009-2010 competition results will be posted on this page as soon as posible after competition result is confirmed.
Presidents Prizes.
The last curling match of the 2009-2010 season took place on Wednesday 14th April with the Presidents Prizes closing bonspiel. Winning Rink was Andy Robinson(Skip) Sheila Smith, James R Carswell and Georgie Travers. finishing the bonspiel 13 shots up. The runner up was the Rink skipped by Ewen Cameron finishing up with 8 shots up.
Cowdenhall Challenge Salver
The annual friendly between Neilston CC and Uplawmoor CC was played at Greenacres on 20th Mar. 2010. Neilston were successful in retaining the Salver with a score of 13-8.
McLeod Cup.
The McLeod Cup was played at Greenacres on Monday 15th March. There was a full turnout of 16 members. In the bonspiel format all four teams won one game and lost one game, with three out of the four teams completing the bonspiel on plus one shot. The winners were Andy Robinson(Skip) Bill Ferrie, Barbara Wilson and John Bray who won a total of 5 ends during the bonspiel.
Points Competition.
Six Neilston members took part in the 12th Provence points Competition at Greenacres on Sunday 28th Feb. 2010. A Bridge of Weir member won the competition with 48 Points. Brian Heron with 43 points was second overall and the highest placed Neilston member and therefor winner of the Points Shield. Third place with 37 points was a tie between James Carswell and Sheila Smith.
Jack Barr Memorial Salver.
Neilston won two matches with the third mstch peeled. Combined scores at end of competition stand at Neilston 30 Barrhead Fereneze 12.
Johnnies Pound Draw The Shot Competition.
Both Gordon McMurdo's shots were first and second shots, ending the long run of successes in this competition of Margaret Wood.
Broadlie Cup Pairs Competition
Team 2 Sheila Smith & Ewen Cameron and Team 8 Bill Ferrie & Margaret Wood won through to the final with Sheila & Ewen winning 10-4.
Rotating Skip Bonspiel.
The annual festive season fun bonspiel was played on 30th December. There were two teams contesting, Team A1 Dorothy Gormlie, Sheila Smith, James H carswell and Robert Humphrey against Team A2, James R Carswell, Bill Ferrie and Colin Melrose. Team A2 got away to a dream start being 12-1 up at the 5th end, Team A1 came back in the later ends with the score finishing 13 - 7 for Team A2.
Annual friendly Neilston v Auchinames.
Neilston Skipped by Tom Wood, with James H Carswell, Bill Ferrie and Gordon McMurdo won the annual friendly against Auchinames on 17th December by 7 - 4.
Reid Rosebowl.
The Reid Rosebowl Bonspiel competition was played at Greenacres on Tuesday 27th. October. Andy Robinson's rink of Gordon McMurdo, James R Carswell and Malcolm Baker cruised to a first match lead of 8 shots up against James Carswell's rink of Robert Humphrey,Gordon Melrose and Barbara Wilson who failed to win an end..
Rhona Robinson's rink of Bill Ferrie, Rosemary Griffiths and Colin Melrose also had a high score off 8 shots against 3 shots from Ewen Cameron's rink of Forbes Ferguson, John Bray and Margaret Semple.
In the second match Rhona's rink peeled with James Carswell's rink 3 shots each, while Andy's rink also peeled against Ewen's rink with 4 shots each, giving Andy's rink the winning margin gained in the first match of 8 shots up.
Leggat Cup.
The final matches in the Leggat Cup Autumn League were played on Wednesday 21st October, with Rink 1, Andy Robinson(Skip), Margaret Wood, Forbes Ferguson and Georgie Travers winning the league with an impressive 10 points from 5 matches. Click on this link to view Leggat cup League table
Opening Bonspiel.
After four ends, Forbes team of Gordon Melrose and Barbara Wilson were 2 shots up against Bill Ferrie's team of Brian Heron and Margaret Semple. While Robert's team of Colin Melrose and John Bray peeled with James Carswell.(Jun). team of Malcolm Baker and Gordon Melrose. James Carswell won a draw the shot against Robert to determine who would move, so Young James's team played Bill Ferries's team for the second four ends which ended in Peels. However Robert's team in the third end of the second four ends scored a six against Forbes with a single in the first and fourth ends against two shots gained by Forbes in the second end gave Robert's team a convincing win of plus six shots.
