COMPETITIONS

Cambusnethan Jug :-   Our major season long league competition in which each
                                      rink plays twice against the other teams.

Walker Trophy :-        A competion with a difference!   The Skip plays at lead and all the
                                    other players move up one place. This gives the
                                    players experience playing up the rink and reminds skips
                                    what sweeping is.  This trophy was presented in memory of one
                                    of our original 1970 members, Harold Walker, by his family.

Pairs Trophy :-             Played  in the New year, with two leagues leading to a
                                      semi-final, then final at the end of the season.

Points Trophy :-
          Usually the last competition of the year, the ultimate test of curling
                                     skills, played over 2 sheets and 2 sessions, with a maximum score
                                     of 72 points. Get into the 30's and you're doing well!

Singles Competition :-     Played as a one day tournament on a Sunday in November,
                                    not only a great days curling but also a social occasion.  Mini
                                    leagues leading to a final.  Sounds easy!  One against one, 4 stones
                                    each, no sweeping and only 5 ends per game. Get to the final and
                                    you should have delivered 100+ stones !

Matches against:-        ClydesdaleBank, Hercules, Cadder, Lanark, Wirsels Ladies and
                                       Hamilton & Thornyhill for the Simpson Trophy.
