SKINS RULES

Adapted for local club use

1.               Normal playing rules apply  (See blank end rule 5 Below).

2.               A game will be of 8 ends.

3.                Rules for scoring are amended and detailed below, with a total of 80 points available for the game.   Split for ends as:

End 1.       4 Points                       End 2.        4 Points

End 3.       8 Points                       End 4.        8 Points

End 5.       12 Points                     End 6.        12 Points

End 7.       14 Points                     End 8.        18 Points

4.                A “SKIN” (Winning points) can be done in one of two ways:

     i.      By taking two or more shots when holding last stone.

ii.      By steeling an end (score one or more shots without last stone).

Any points not won on an end are carried over and added to the next end.

5.                A blank end will result in the last stone changing to the other team for the next end.

6.                Any points not won at the 8th end will be decided by the drawing of a shot to the T. sweeping being allowed by the playing side only.

7.                In the event of only 7 ends being played, draw the shot for the 8th end.

If time prohibits this, then the scores will be recalculated missing off the first 4 and counting the scores as end 2 – 8 (total 76).

(There should be no reason for not getting 8 ends in within the 2 hr game).

8.                Money is played for to the same ratio of the point (£80.00) in the final game.   (Variations of values i.e.; £1.50 / point to suit funding of £120 etc)

9.                Late rule. Start as normal with three players but no points will be awarded should the offending team win the end, if the non-offending team wins the end the score will count as normal.

10.            Player Short.   Play the game as Rule 9, if after 30 minutes from the start signal a team is still a player short the remaining scores of the offending team shall be halved

11.           The club committee’s decision is final in all matters.
