Announcement on the proposed National Curling Academy in Kinross

Posted on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 11:09am

Despite the efforts of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club and the Kinross Curling Trust, we are disappointed that it has not been possible to raise the necessary funds to be able to build a new and dedicated National Curling Academy.  This is a project that has been running since October 2008 and a huge amount of time, effort and resources have been given to turn the concept into reality.  We recognise that there will be some frustration and disappointment among our members and in particular those who have been closely involved in the project.

Our immediate priority is to consider how we can best support local curling in the Kinross area, whether by working with the KCT, clubs or the existing facility at the Green Hotel.  We will also be conducting a review of the National Curling Academy Project to find lessons that we can all take forward to future facility developments.  We hope to publish the findings of this review within three months.
