Posted on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 5:49pm

The Junior Challenge D3 was played at Dumfries Ice Bowl on very good ice.

Congratulations go to Aberdeen (pictured) who won Division 3 and are now promoted to D2 along with the runners-up Borders.

At the end of day one Aberdeen lead the way with 10 points, they were closely followed by Perth on 8 Kinross and Borders on 7.

The Sunday morning games matched Aberdeen with Kinross B.  Aberdeen took 3 points which gave them a 2 point lead over the Borders going into the last session.  In the Last round Robin games Aberdeen played Perth and Borders played Kinross B.  Aberdeen, Perth and Borders could still win D3 and all four of the named teams above were still in contention for promotion.

Aberdeen tied their game with Perth and the Border won both games against Kinross B.  The result of the competition went down to Shots Up as Aberdeen and the Borders were equal on points and ends.

Thanks go to all at Dumfries for a good weekend.
